The Elephant In The Room

ESPN has a pretty decent article about the labor situation in the NFL.  This year will go as scheduled, with next year being an UNcapped year, followed up by a lockout.  That is, if the owners and the NFLPA don’t get busy, and quick.

I can’t imagine what an uncapped year would look like.  The poor teams would just be meat out there.

The NFL is the most popular sport in the USA right now.  A work stoppage in 2011, or even an uncapped year in 2010 would really slow their momentum.

Gene Upshaw, before he croaked last year, said that the players were not going to move from their positions.  We will see what his replacement does.

I actually like the rules in the NFL wrt salary caps, ect.

I hope they don’t do a scab / lockout year, I can still remember Steve Largent murdering the DB’s in the secondary when he crossed the picket line. Good for him I say…
