Well, I am giving our old friend Obama a break this Thursday as he did double time with that Monday re-alignment post. While you suckas are at work today, I took the day off and will be having a glorious tailgate of ribs and shrimp and fine New Glarus Spotted Cow at beautiful Miller Park. We have the final game of the three game set between the Brewers and Cubs today.
This has been one of the most interesting kfb off seasons in a very long time so I thought I would put in a supplemental Obama post. The Big Ten seems to be where the tsunami of news is originating, with the other conferences following up in the wake. As of last week my sources (internet websites) are saying thus:
The Big 12 has given Nebraska and Mizzou until Friday at 5pm to say whether or not they are going to join the Big Ten. If this happens, I have heard that ND may join the Big Ten also. I have also read that ND is starting to get worried about being on the outside looking in as regards these new “mega conferences” that seem to be forming. Add to this the fact that the Texas AD has been talking to ADs of other Big Ten schools. But some folks say that Texas has a “Texas Tech problem” – in other words, Texas likes that rivalry, but the Big Ten doesn’t give a crap about it.
The Pac Ten has been very busy as well and I have seen this one floated around quite a bit:
If Nebraska and Mizzou go to the Big Ten, the Pac Ten would adopt Texas, Texas A and M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and one more (Baylor? Colorado?). They would have two divisions with the above six teams joining Arizona and ASU in one division, with the original 8 in the other. Yikes!
But where does this leave Colorado (or Baylor) and Iowa State? Back to the Big Ten? The Mountain West? The head spins. Very interesting times ahead for kfb, my friends.
