For $15 I’m really enjoying the NFL preseason live stream. Preseason football is pretty boring unless you are a hardcore fan, but they really do it right. Beautiful HD streaming with DVR controls and game playback later if there is a particular player or team you couldn’t see live. They do the 30 minute condensed games just like the rewind package as well.

I watched the first quarter of the Vikes/Bills game tonight and Ponder is still garbage. Outside of AP the Vikes have nothing, and will be fighting for space in the NFCN cellar with Detroit this year.

I watched the full game of Saints/Raiders. Holy shit are the Raiders bad. Just no talent on that team. Matt Flynn survived his 5 sacks in the first half, but was still trailing 23-0 by the time the Saints backed off. If the Bears aren’t up at least 30-0 after the first half next week then Trestman might have some serious problems to deal with.

The Raiders might actually go 0-17 this year. I know they only play 16 games, but I’m betting that at least one of them will be atrocious enough to count for two losses.

For the Saints, Brees was sharp. Part of that was due to the competition – on one play he had 10 seconds (not exaggerating here) to wait for a receiver to come open for a TD. It was surreal. He’s got insane accuracy, though, through the complete range of passes. Saints will be tough this year.

Seattle retread Seneca Wallace got second team duties for the Saints and stunk pretty bad for a quarter. Luke McClown sat this game, and after his performance last week it is pretty clear he beat out Wallace as the veteran backup QB.

Former Tulane hero Ryan Griffin got the fourth quarter again and was steady in closing the game out. He went 5/6 for 70 yds with no picks or TDs, although he led a couple of nice drives. He did lay out a beautiful bomb that hit the receiver in the hands but went incomplete due to pass interference, though, so he had some hidden yards there. Unless something significant happens in the next two games I’m guessing Wallace will be cut, McClown will be the backup to Brees, and Griffin will go to the practice squad unless they carry three.

Well my first prediction came true – Saints cut Seneca Wallace today.

Wow, just saw an ad for Al-Jazeera on NFL network. I think they might be misjudging their target audience a bit.

  13. dfm Says:

Haha green bays left tackle suxxxxx.

  14. dfm Says:

  23. dfm Says:

Jesus an hour to play this last minute of the half. Lots of good trash talking though. Carroll has instilled the usc way well.

  24. dfm Says:

Bleh early morning tomorrow. Gonna watch the Bears horizontally.

  25. Sk8 Says:

Hawks vs Packers. Time for a last minute TD Hail Mary.

I’m starting to think Jake “Superman” Locker might not be the answer in Tennessee.

He’s got a great line, a great RB, decent receivers, and yet he’s still playing like a raw rookie. Maybe he’s just not a fit for the scheme, but I imagine Titans fans are missing Hasselbeck right now.

I want to like the kid, but I’m just not seeing it on the field.

  27. astro Says:

Titans D is really holding up against Atlanta in some bad situations.

  28. astro Says:

And a couple of nice passes from Jake.

  29. astro Says:

SWEET play action TD pass to Nate Washington!

Really nice pass. Maybe there is hope for Jake yet.

  30. astro Says:

Lol camera full of fat guy ass as Titans get a fumble and the DT gets pulled down by his pants.

I have to agree with Joe Buck here – That is a disgusting act!

  31. astro Says:

And Jake Locker is now on fire. I think I pissed him off.

  32. astro Says:

    Working the 2 min drill

  33. astro Says:

Drive ends with just three, but still 13-6 at the half against a good Atlanta team. Good showing by the Titans and Locker.

I’ve still got my doubts about Locker, but he went from crappy to capable and got his team a lead, which isn’t usually the trend for a bad QB. It will interesting to watch Locker and the Titans this year.

DFM, out up these .gif’s. Hail yeah:
